This is our biggest project to date and definitely our best.
We just finished building and setting up the biggest PRIVATELY home owned AQUARIUM in the whole of the SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE and one of the biggest in the WORLD. Its definitely a MONSTER AQUARIUM, the capacity is 90 000 Liters at a lenght of 8 meters, 4 meters wide and 3 meters high. This is definitely the best and biggest AQUARIUM we have build to date. A seperate page will be allocated specially for this huge aquarium.According to our research the biggest privately owned aquarium is in the Hilton Towers LONDON (measuring in at 70 000 Liters). In America there is a guy with 189 000 Liter aquarium in his house.

The Aquarium was build on the first floor of the house on top of the gym area.
The floors was reinforced with steel cage and reinforcing. The concrete was stronger than your normal load of building contractors. The Aquarium measures in at 8 meters long, 4 meters wide and 3 meters high. The calculated water volume up to water level is 90 000 Liters ( 24 000 Gallons ).

We decided the best way to go was building a solid rock structure inside the aquarium. Here we started with the base and foundation, measuring all the time not to make any mistakes. We build everything according to scaled model of the aquarium.

Front View of the model.

We measured and marked exactly where all the base rocks was supposed to come.

We build the complete structure over a three week period, waiting the whole time for cement and epoxy to dry. Once dry we would add and build the next level.

After completing the foundations we could begin with the sculpting. This was very frustrating work for us as it didn't want to come out the first way we wanted.
So we had to keep at it and redo a lot of the sculpture until it was just right for the eye and most importantly the inhabitants of the aquarium.

After we did that we installed the lighting, these consisted of six Metal Halide 500watt aquarium lights housed inside a 99% waterproof casing.

Window installations was a task and a half for the team of 16 men.

Once that was completed the setup began.

Then we started with the setup of the aquarium with the substrate first.
